Dana Mitchell Barry

Dana, a member of ASCAP, grew up in Beverly Hills California, in an entertainment family. His father Dave Barry was a very talented comedian playing all around the world with some of the biggest stars in the business, such stars included Frank Sinatra, Wayne Newton, and Tony Bennett. Dave also had several roles in some movies including Some Like It Hot and Spinout. He appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show and Late Night Johnny Carson Show several times.

Dana’s Mother Ginny had a voice like a bluebird. Dana inherited his fathers creativity, and his mothers vocals. Dana started playing viola at age night. Turning to piano and guitar opened his ears to more chord and harmonic structures regarding all venues of music.

Dana played around the L.A. area for many years with his own bands playing shows records dates. And concerts. Playing clubs like the Whiskey A Gogo, and The Roxy. Thus he began his journey into the music business. Dana’s extensive recording experience as a musician, songwriter, brought him to four major rehearsals with A&M Records. He performed and wrote two major hits for Herb Alpert. Also had two other rehearsals under a group called Badazz. All four songs charted in Billboard Magazine.

Dana plays all styles of music. He can read, conduct and also engineer. He can tackle anything vocally or instrumentally. He can play blues, jazz, country, rock, or rap. He is very conscientious and a reliable team player. Dana loves and respects his peers. In fact he does impersonations of Joe Cocker, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, and Willie Nelson. He can play many instruments including lead guitar, rhythm guitar, classical guitar, bass guitar, drums piano, and synths.

Dana has performed with stars as Herb Alpert, Rich Little, Debbie Reynolds, Wayne Newton, and Freddie Hubbard, and played with the UNLV Jazz Band. His performances include most every strip casino, also produced several musical strip shows for casinos. Dana has also played with several convention bands, Playing everything from big band to contemporary music. Look for Dana as a rising force in the entertainment world.
